Artichoke Bloom

Have you ever seen an artichoke flower bloom?  I grew these because I think the flowers are so beautiful. 

These shots are from the other day, right before we had our first freeze and first snow of the season.  Everything's sorta brown and wilty after that weather.

It's 6 degrees here this AM, and looking at your flowers makes me quite jealous. I didn't even know that artichokes flower.
